is possible hide version the desktop

Is it possible to hide version on the desktop?

Is it possible to hide the text from my background picture?
"Windows Vista Beta 2" Evaluation Copy?
Thanks

If you're a really sophisticated programmer you might.

What am I suppose to do with that answer? Does this mean it's complicated?

He meant NO, but did not want some programmer who had written a shell to block that out to jump in and say he was wrong.
Why do you want it removed? aesthetics? just wondering...I happened to put a picture on that has white in the area, so it does not show up well

Joe, I'm saying I think it's pretty hard to override it.

Maybe I'm a little too picky. It just does not fit with the background, yup: aesthetics.

The response to this question in one of the Vista shell user chats was 'no.'

I seem to remember back in the Windows XP days there was a registry key for it. But it wouldn't surprise me if it was coded in a bit harder this time around.

Yes there is a registry key that toggles the version info on XP. An easy way to access it is through a program like Fresh UI from Fresh Devices. There are many others.

Yeah, I did not expect it would since the site was an XP site with no text about Vista at all..

Now this is the sort of suggestion that is dangerous. You don't know what it changed, it can cause you mega pain.
